Background
AGENCY FOR RESILIENCE INITIATIVE NETWORK, herein also referred to as “ARIN” was initially founded by group of concerned and likely minded persons, under demanded driven initiatives.
While ARIN assumes the role of community based safety valve focusing on South central Somalia region, puntland and Somaliland by intellectuals to respond to the increased suffering, starvation and death of the Communities badly affected by the increasing poverty status, tribal conflict and famine in the target regions through the establishment of community- based rehabilitation and development Projects.
ARIN started its activities soon after it was established and became an autonomous organization; responsible forcreating its own development strategies, programmatic activities and fundraising. The initial activities were mainly focused on education, family relief the poorest communities in the proposed regions. By October, 2010, ARIN , had built its reputation at grassroots level and sufficient to attract funds from International agencies in the local and developed countries as an organization capable of delivering services to the most needy and vulnerable populations and collaborated as an implementing agency and through information-sharing and partnering with agencies with similar convictions in the region and across the
world/ globe.
ARIN is Non-governmental, non-political allied or affiliate, not- for- profit making, Charitable, humanitarian and developmental organization, and providing community support Services.
ARIN is considered a safety valve and an eye opener focusing on community Organized youth and women groups and other community structures like community owned Resource persons, various committees and contact persons as its entry points, while targeting Administrative locations as development focal points.

OBJECTIVES
In General, ARIN was founded to participate in humanitarian activities in Somalia, and in
particular activities South Central Somalia and in order to realize its objectives ARIN has
setup the following guidelines:
- Illiteracy elimination through sustainable, qualitative and accessible basic orphans education and vocational training for every gender.
- In the future to improve the quality and accessibility of drinking water.
- Promoting mother and child care health centres and MCH’S.
- Rehabilitate boreholes and other facilities in the region.
- Raising community awareness through media promotional materials, seminars and workshops.
- Elevate the poverty levels to self-reliance, influencing decision-making process, ownership, democratization, strengthening civil society and improving the relation between the regions where VPI is active and surrounding regions:
- To function as an advisory organ between local, international and donor organization.
- Poverty alleviation through small-scale food production programs which will lead access to food for everybody.
- Community education systems and capacity development initiatives.
- Poverty alleviation plans.
- Rural community water supply and sanitation services.
- Human and animal health care services.
- Food security through hunger safety net initiative.
- Conflict management/ transformation and peace building.
- Youths and women empowerment programs.
- Research works and documentations.
